Kinderworld premises

The Nursery occupies both the ground and first floor of a large building, which has been renovated to our specification and which is situated in attractive surroundings close to Christchurch Road, The Bournemouth Travel Interchange and Asda, the Poole to Ringwood Dual-Carriage Way and central Bournemouth.

On the ground floor there is a room used for the 2-3 year-olds where there is a cosy area for resting, small group discussions or stories, a fully stocked book and toy shelves. The room also provides an area for nappy changing and mats for when they require a sleep. Also on the ground floor is a larger play room which is used for the 2-3 year-olds and 3-4 year-olds, this incorporates an open area suitable for pre-school activities, nursery education and for playing generally, a computer area, an area for role play, a book corner, table top activity areas and our relaxing fish. We have a large craft /dining room for messy play such as water, paint and sand, and other creative activities as well as drinks, lunch & tea.

We have a fully equipped kitchen and a cook to provide nutritious lunches and to satisfy any special dietary requirements of the children. In addition to toilets, there is a spacious cloakroom for coats and shoe changing. Leading out to the garden there a wet boot room where we store our wet weather clothes and boots (so we can enjoy the outdoors all year round) as well as an accessible toilet.

On the first floor there are four spacious rooms for the babies, one for the 0-1 year-olds, with a milk kitchen and changing facilities, this leads into their relaxing cot- room (closely monitored by staff). The 1-2 year-olds have 2 spacious areas to play and rest, and a nappy changing area with potty training facilities. The babies and toddlers also have use of the garden.

Separately there is a staff room where staff can take their breaks, prepare work and undertake administrative duties. Outside, a large garden provides a grassy play area, a soft wood chip area for climbing equipment, a hard surface for wheeled toys, a paved patio with sandpit, a pet's corner, story telling chair and a mud kitchen. Children have access to the garden all year round with a variety of toys and games. We have 2 covered areas which allow us to access the garden in all weathers and continue with our learning outdoors. The staff and children are activity involved in nature and take part in lots of nature embracing activities such as creating an Eco garden with fruit and vegetable growing, bug houses and plants to encourage the wildlife. As part of the fun in the summer we also have water play and picnics.
